In addition to his work on Battlestar Galactica, Jefferson has appeared in several popular television series, including The Streets of San Francisco, Knight Rider, and The A-Team.

Jefferson has also worked behind the scenes as a producer on films such as Johnny Be Good and as a director on shows like Homicide: Life on the Street. He has received several awards for his work, including a Christopher Award and a NAACP Image Award.
